Super Saturday Enrichment Meeting
Saturday, November 8, was our 4th Quarter Home, Family & Personal Enrichment Meeting. This Super Saturday Activity was a "kick off" for the holidays. We discussed how the holidays can be such a hectic and crazy time. It can often be easy for us to forget the real meaning of the season. By planning ahead and organizing ourselves, we can make sure that we have time for the things that mean the most to us.We can have a more Christ-centered holiday by focusing our activities on giving service, strengthening family and worshiping the Savior. To see the Ensign article that discusses this, visit lds.org. (Ronda Hinrichsen, “Christ-Centered Traditions,” Ensign, Dec. 1995, 62–63).

Sisters were given gift bags so they could keep together the things that they collected throughout the Super Saturday.
There were various handouts with articles from Church magazines offering suggestions on how to make the holidays meaningful for your family. There were also handouts of holiday ideas from different Sisters in our ward.Throughout the activity, Sisters also collected some of the symbols of Christmas and a small nativity.
Our "Sisters in Service" Enrichment Activity Group sponsored one of our activities. We made soft flannel blankets that we tied and bound. We will be donating a total of about 10 blankets to a local Family Crisis Shelter. The people at the Center were very excited to find out that we were doing this activity and said that they did not even have bedspreads for all of their beds. We are very happy to be able to donate these much needed items to the shelter.
Thanks to Rhonda Bennett for organizing this important activity. Rhonda will continue to be the leader of the "Sisters in Service" Enrichment Activity Group. She has a lot of great ideas and we look forward to continue to provide service in our community. Thank you, Sister Bennett!!
Sister Sue Woodbury, our Emergency Preparedness Activity Group leader (and Stake Relief Society President), taught us how to make hot chocolate and hot cocoa.

She inspired our minds on the infinite possibilities of making powdered milk simply to die for. Her idea of having a hot chocolate buffet set out during the holidays will certainly be a new tradition for many families in our ward. Thanks so much, Sister Woodbury!!

A main part of the Super Saturday Activity was the food. We enjoyed appetizers while we made fleece blankets, hot chocolate while we mixed up dry cocoa mixes, and feasted on ham and all of the holiday trimmings during our luncheon.
Thanks to all those who cooked for this event and contributed recipes. We will soon post all the recipes of the foods that we enjoyed on Saturday, as well as others were submitted by the Sisters of our Relief Society.

Thanks to those who contributed to the "Traditions" table that was set up for the Sisters to display their family traditions.

We also appreciate those who helped with the decorations. The nativity table center pieces helped us remember the reason that we celebrate this holiday season.

Many thanks to Sister Plogger and to all those who helped in the Nursery. We couldn't do it without you!!

We appreciate all those who came and participated with us. We have such wonderful Sisters in our Relief Society and hope that those of you who were not able to attend will know that you were missed!
